The honest review of Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai

The gym here is one of the most impressive hotel gyms I've come across.

The equipment and the amount of space on offer is everything you'd want from a luxury property's fitness setup.

I booked a deep tissue massage with Grace and left feeling completely reset.

Grace focused on exactly the spots that needed work without ever pushing too hard. She was professional and warm the whole session, and I actually felt looser walking out than I have after most spa treatments. I'm already planning to book her again next time I'm in Dubai.

Everything was taken care of before I even had to ask.

The staff anticipated our needs the entire stay, which made everything feel effortless. The room, restaurant and pool were all excellent, and the whole property felt polished from top to bottom.

We keep trying other Dubai hotels and keep coming back to this one.

Afternoon tea for my birthday was made properly special by one server's warmth.

Veronica greeted us with a genuine smile and looked after our table the entire visit. It turned a nice afternoon tea into a memorable celebration.

This is easily top five in Dubai for me, and the assistant manager made it feel personal.

Service was excellent throughout, food was fresh and beautifully presented, and both the beach and pool were clean and calm. Suman, the assistant manager, met every request we had without hesitation. We'll be back.

Our anniversary suite had a sea view that made the whole celebration feel special.

The room was beautifully arranged with a lovely anniversary surprise waiting for us. Every staff member we dealt with, from reception through housekeeping to the restaurant teams, was excellent. Dubai has plenty of luxury hotels but the hospitality here felt a level above.

Seven stays in and this still feels like coming home rather than checking into a hotel.

The people are the biggest reason I keep returning; the front desk knows me and the whole place feels warm and personal. Service runs a consistent 10 out of 10 and the property is spotless, with a private beach directly attached that few Dubai hotels can match. The gym might be the best hotel gym I've used in the city. That said, the property now leans more family-oriented than romantic during busy stretches, some rooms feel dated next to newer builds, and finding a sunbed by the pool can be a real struggle unless you get there early, especially with cabanas charged separately rather than included for suite guests.

The poolside team here goes further than any hotel I've stayed at, right down to cleaning your sunglasses.

The atmosphere was relaxing throughout and the service matched what I'd expect from a hotel like this. Rooms were spacious, breakfast was solid, and the pool area stayed quiet. Minibar prices were steep, but that tracks for this category of hotel.

Twelve days here with my family felt completely unforgettable, from the welcome to the food to the whole atmosphere.

Everything about the stay felt like being at home rather than in a hotel. Rafik Iskander arranged thoughtful gifts for my daughter and looked after us throughout. At The Bay, the team was excellent, and the pool staff, especially the lifeguard, were kind and attentive the entire trip.

The welcome with two kids in tow was better than I expected, right down to balloons and toys sent up fast.

Eissa handled our check-in perfectly for a family of four, and within minutes the kids had balloons and toys waiting in the room. Staff were friendly without hovering, food and beverage options were excellent, and the kids' facilities were subtle rather than gimmicky. It felt adult-oriented at first glance but turned out to work well for families too.

Two nights here and Tasca plus Noor Lounge were the clear highlights of the whole trip.

The welcome made us feel special right away, and the staff stayed attentive and warm the entire stay. Our room was spacious and elegant with a genuine sea view. Dinner at Tasca was fantastic, and the afternoon tea at Noor Lounge might be the best I've had in Dubai, with manager Markus and his team making it feel effortless. Breakfast and the Netsu bar were also excellent.

We've been coming here for years and the Sun Vibe pool is still our favorite place to switch off.

It genuinely feels like our regular spot in Dubai. Suman continues to make every visit feel personal, remembering details and going out of his way to help. That kind of familiarity is what keeps drawing us back rather than trying somewhere new.

We ended up checking out after one night when the mattress situation turned into a real problem.

We were upgraded to a sea-facing room on arrival, which was a nice start, but lunch at the lobby lounge came out wrong and the replacement arrived cold. The bigger issue was the mattress: it turned out to be two twin mattresses joined together, and after they swapped one at night I woke up covered in bites with strange insects visible in the bed. Beyond that incident, the rooms and property overall felt dated rather than fresh, and we left after the first night of a four-night booking rather than risk it further.

We booked a club room specifically for the lounge, and it was closed with no warning.

I've stayed here several times and always liked the rooms, pool and spa, plus having two solid restaurants on site. This time I paid extra for a club room for lounge access, but the lounge turned out to be closed and nobody told me during booking or even at check-in until I asked directly. Given the premium for that category, it felt misleading, and I'd have booked a standard room instead had I known.

This is proactive service done right, with the room refreshed practically every time we stepped out.

The service felt near-invisible in the best way, quietly present around the clock. Doors were held, the concierge handled every request with ease, and the multiple pools including the rooftop, plus the private beach, were all well staffed with lifeguards and fast beach service. The restaurant selection was strong across the board, with rooftop dining offering great sunset views, and the kids' club and on-site shops rounded things out nicely.
