The best Waldorf Astoria hotels
Many Waldorf Astoria hotels have a Peacock Alley, named after the marble promenade that joined the Waldorf and the Astoria, two hotels the Astor cousins opened side by side on New York’s Fifth Avenue in the 1890s. Their Art Deco successor opened on Park Avenue in 1931, Conrad Hilton bought control of it in 1949, and Hilton made the name a brand in 2006. The New York hotel reopened in July 2025 after eight years of restoration.
