The good staff are very good and get thanked by name constantly, but the gaps show up right when you'd expect the price tag to paper over them. The gym is also a known weak point next to what the Mandarin Oriental offers down the road, so anyone training daily should factor that in.

Book it for the privacy, the beach, and a genuinely calm few days that most Dubai resorts can't offer at any price. The setting alone does most of the work, and when the staff show up (which is most of the time) it's a proper luxury stay.
