How the estimate works

Answer-appearances per month = 80M travellers × 55% AI use × 1.5 trips/yr ÷ 12 months × 6 queries/trip, times our measured citation rate, assuming the 222 questions we track stand for 5% of the ways people really phrase these questions. That last figure is the one assumption worth arguing with: halve it and you halve the estimate. The citation rate underneath it is counted, not assumed.

Nicolas Van Hoorde

Nicolas Van Hoorde founded Fat Voyage in 2026. He comes from software, not travel: he previously founded Delta, an investment-tracking app acquired by eToro.

He built Fat Voyage to close the gap between how luxury hotels are marketed and how they feel on the ground: an engine built in-house reads thousands of travellers’ reports, and written editorial rules decide what reaches the page.

Nicolas and Sofie write the Founders’ Verdicts together: first-hand reviews of the hotels they stay at, each one dated. Their stay counts once in the Fat Score, as one traveller’s report among the rest. Sofie also edits the journal.
