For Hoteliers
We cover the world’s most distinctive hotels. We’d like your help getting the details right.
Fat Voyage is an independent editorial publication about luxury hotels, written for the people paying the bill. This page explains how we work, what we offer the hotels we cover, and how to reach us directly.
Who reads Fat Voyage
Our readers are the people who actually book and pay for these kinds of stays. They book direct, stay longer, and spend on property. Many come from communities like r/fattravel, where a considered second opinion matters more than a polished listicle. A growing number find us through AI search: Fat Voyage is indexed and cited by ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google’s AI Overviews.
These readers aren’t OTA deal-hunters. They do real research before committing to a multi-night stay at these kinds of rates — and they’d rather read one honest second opinion than another listicle.
How hotels get covered
We handpick hotels we think are worth writing about — by geography, architecture, and reputation for service. Inclusion is never for sale.
Each hotel receives an FV Score synthesized from specific review signals across the most active luxury travel communities, Google Reviews, and editorial publications. Our scoring weights depth, credibility, and recency — a detailed firsthand account from someone who stays at places like these often carries more weight than a hundred one-liners. Scores refresh quarterly.
Collaboration
Three ways we’d like to work with you
Get the imagery and facts right
Hotels evolve. We’d rather have your help than guess.
What we ask
Send your official press library, B-roll or video, a current fact sheet, and anything that has changed — renovations, new suites, new F&B, new leadership.
What you get
A factual-review window. You can flag anything — a dated photo, a wrong amenity, an out-of-date room count — any time. We update within seven days. Imagery is credited on your page.
Send readers to your direct booking channel
Better margin for you, the right answer for the reader, a sustainable model for us.
What we ask
Your direct reservation URL with affiliate tracking — Aman Insider, Preferred Hotels & Resorts Platinum, Virtuoso Preferred, Leading Hotels Leaders Club, or an in-house loyalty program.
What you get
Every Reserve CTA on your page points to your channel, not an OTA. Readers get the loyalty recognition and best available rate; you keep the margin. Affiliate disclosure is shown beneath every reserve button: “If you reserve via this button, we might earn a not-so-fat commission. Helps keep the lights on.”
Host us for a Founders’ Verdict
We publish honestly. The score may move up, down, or hold. The emblem is earned, not bought — which is exactly what makes it worth something.
What we ask
Honestly, nothing. We pay for our own stays at standard rates. If you’d like to extend the same press rate you offer other credentialed publications, we’ll gladly take it — but it’s not a condition, and the Verdict doesn’t depend on it.
What you get
A first-person founders’ account from a real stay, published above the FV Score. Your hotel earns the Founders’ Verdictemblem on its card and across every listing on the site. You see the draft for factual review before publication — corrections, yes; editorial veto, no.
The line we don’t cross
What we won’t do
No pay-to-feature
Inclusion and coverage are never for sale. Scoring is independent of any commercial arrangement we may have.
No editorial veto
Factual review only. Hotels can correct errors of fact, not rewrite opinions or assessments.
No scores for stays
Hospitality earns a Founders’ Verdict, never a higher FV Score. The two layers are kept separate on purpose.
No removing negatives
Honest synthesis includes critical voices, attributed and dated. We won’t delete them on request.
Who you’ll be talking to

Founder
Nicolas
Startup background, not a travel-industry veteran. I’ve stayed at enough places like these — always as a paying guest — to care about the gap between how a property is marketed and how it actually feels on the ground. The other thing, honestly, is that I just love it: the quiet craft behind how a great hotel is run, the way real comfort can settle into something like peace. I built Fat Voyage because the existing options were either influencer grids or SEO listicles, and because finding the honest voices in communities — and figuring out which publications to actually trust — is a lot of work that shouldn’t fall on every reader. I wanted something that does that work once, properly, and reads more like a trusted friend’s honest notes from a recent stay.
There’s a second reason this site exists: luxury hospitality and AI-native tech rarely meet well. Most hotel coverage is either hand-written at small scale or churned out algorithmically without much judgment. Fat Voyage sits in the space where those two meet — thousands of real traveler signals synthesized through a platform we built ourselves, and then curated before anything goes on the page. A proper product, run with editorial intent.
If you’re the GM, brand director, or PR contact at a hotel we already cover — or one you think we should — reach out directly. A real reply, from me.
