Taj
Taj Patna
A 500-key greenfield overlooking Gandhi Maidan and the Ganges
First look
Patna already has a Taj in the form of Taj City Centre, but this is a much larger and separate bet: a 500-key greenfield hotel overlooking Gandhi Maidan and the Ganges, built with Patliputra Palace Pvt Ltd. The location, fronting one of the city's most prominent open spaces and the river, is the headline here.
Five hundred keys is a serious scale for Patna and signals confidence in the Bihar market beyond the existing footprint. As a greenfield project it gives Taj a blank slate rather than a conversion, which usually means a stronger arrival sequence and purpose-built facilities. No opening date has been set. What we will be watching for is how the design exploits the Gandhi Maidan and river frontage, and whether a hotel this size can keep the service tight. We have not stayed, so this is anticipation.
Not yet scored. We publish a Fat Score only once a hotel is open and real guests have stayed and written about it — this is a first look, not a verdict.

Want us to get you in when it opens?
Nothing to book yet — rates usually load a few months out. We're Sofie and Nicolas; tell us roughly what you're after and we'll come back the moment Taj Patna is bookable, with rates, what the rooms are actually like, and whether we'd go in the first season.
You'll be dealing with the two of us the whole way through, which is why we only take on a handful of trips at a time — if we're full, we'll say so. We reply by email, usually within one working day. The hotel pays us, not you: your rate is the same as booking direct, and the perks come on top.
