Taj
Taj Mohali
A 225-key greenfield; IHCL's 14th hotel in Punjab
First look
Signed in January 2026, Taj Mohali is a 225-key greenfield hotel that pushes IHCL's Punjab count to 14. Mohali, part of the Chandigarh tricity area, has grown into a business and sports hub, and a purpose-built Taj here reads as a play for that steady regional demand.
A greenfield at this size tends to land as a full-service city hotel with the meeting space, dining and spa that corporate and event travel in the region expects. No opening date has been confirmed yet. What we will be watching for is how Taj positions this against its own deep Punjab portfolio without simply cannibalizing nearby properties, and whether the new build brings anything fresher than a standard business-hotel template. We have not stayed, so this is anticipation.
Not yet scored. We publish a Fat Score only once a hotel is open and real guests have stayed and written about it — this is a first look, not a verdict.
