Bulgari Resort & Mansions Cave Cay

A 220-acre private island in the Exumas, the brand's first Bahamas property

Cave Cay (Exumas), Bahamas

First look

Bulgari's first Bahamas property is planned for a 220-acre private island in the Exumas, announced for 2029. The hotel side runs to 64 suites and villas, with 48 privately-owned Bvlgari Mansions sharing the island, plus a marina, a Bulgari Bar, and an Il Ristorante - Niko Romito. A whole-island setting gives Bulgari a level of control over the experience it can't get on a city block, and the Exumas are about as quiet a corner of the Caribbean as the brand could pick.

The marina is a telling inclusion: a 220-acre private island in the Exumas only really works if guests can get there and move around by water, so the boating infrastructure is doing real work rather than decoration. What we'll be watching for is how the 64-key resort balances against 48 private mansions on the same ground, and whether the island can deliver genuine seclusion without feeling empty. It's a long way off and still an announcement, so for now we're simply tracking it.
