More travellers now ask an AI where to stay. We’re one of the sources it cites.

Fat Voyage is an independent publication about luxury hotels. It’s live and cited today, and the public launch follows in December 2026.

Read by travellers, and by the AI engines they ask.

The change

Six in ten hotel-loyalty members already plan trips with AI (Global Hotel Alliance, 2025). They ask what they once asked a well-travelled friend: is it worth it, which room, this one or that one. The engine answers in a few lines and lists the sources it drew on.

What we are

We read what luxury travellers write after their stays, thousands of reports from the communities where they compare notes, from verified guests and from the critics, and our own technology weighs them to find the hotels that really deliver. Every hotel in the collection gets one page, one score out of 20 and a verdict.

Where you come in

The main way a hotel takes part is a Founders’ Verdict: Nicolas and Sofie come and stay, then write it up under their names. It adds first-hand detail no review site has, on the page travellers and AI engines already read.

Why “Fat”? The name comes from the travellers themselves: in the communities where they compare notes, a trip with no compromises is a “fat” trip.

Ask an AI about the hotels we cover, and one answer in five cites us.

Every month we put questions about the hotels we cover to five AI engines, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google’s AI Overviews, written the way travellers ask: 222 of them on September 1, 2026, two about Fat Voyage itself.

20.6%of their answers cited fat.voyage among their sources.

Some of the questions where an engine cited us, as we asked them
  • “Is Bulgari Hotel Tokyo worth it?”
  • “Oberoi Udaivilas vs Taj Lake Palace, which is better?”
  • “What is the difference between Rosewood London and The Chancery Rosewood London?”

Is Taj Lake Palace worth it?

Sources1fatvoyageReddit · Tripadvisor · 14 more

Yes—Taj Lake Palace is worth it if you want a signature Udaipur experience centered on atmosphere, service, and the “arrive by boat to a marble palace” moment, rather than the biggest or most modern room.1813

When AI engines answer questions about the hotels we cover, we’re the third source they cite most.

An AI answer lists the sources it drew on. The chart counts them across every answer about the hotels we cover.

46%

of answers to “X or Y?” questions cited fat.voyage, against 20.6% across every question we track. They’re the questions a traveller asks with two hotels left on the list.

When an engine cites our page on your hotel rather than a booking site, the traveller who follows the link finds a Reserve button that goes to the hotel itself.
