Rosewood
Rosewood Shanghai
Top floors of a 320m Foster + Partners tower in Jing'An's Suhewan district
First look
Rosewood is going vertical in Shanghai, taking the top floors of a 320-metre Foster + Partners tower in the Jing'An district's Suhewan area. A sky-high hotel inside a headline piece of architecture is a statement project for the brand in a city where the competition at the top is intense.
The opening is slated for 2028, far enough out that the tower itself is still the main event for now. The pairing of Foster + Partners and a 320-metre perch sets a high expectation on views and design. What we'll be watching for is whether the hotel justifies the altitude with genuine substance, and whether a 2028 date holds for a project still years from completion.
