Rosewood
Rosewood Chongqing
Inside Chongqing's tallest building in the Central Business District, with Sunac
First look
Rosewood is planning to occupy Chongqing's tallest building, in the Central Business District of the vast southwestern megacity, developed with Sunac. A hotel inside a city's highest tower is an inherently headline-grabbing project, and another sign of Rosewood's reach across China's interior, not just its coastal hubs.
The date has been firmed up to 2030, replacing the vaguer 'future opening' that earlier paperwork carried, so this is a long-range project by any measure. With that much runway, the building itself is the story for now. What we'll be watching for is whether the development stays on its stated 2030 track, and whether the tallest-tower setting delivers more than the obvious view once the hotel actually takes shape.
Not yet scored. We publish a Fat Score only once a hotel is open and real guests have stayed and written about it — this is a first look, not a verdict.

Want us to get you in when it opens?
Nothing to book yet — rates usually load a few months out. We're Sofie and Nicolas; tell us roughly what you're after and we'll come back the moment Rosewood Chongqing is bookable, with rates, what the rooms are actually like, and whether we'd go in the first season.
You'll be dealing with the two of us the whole way through, which is why we only take on a handful of trips at a time — if we're full, we'll say so. We reply by email, usually within one working day. The hotel pays us, not you: your rate is the same as booking direct, and the perks come on top.
