Maybourne
The Maybourne Saint-Germain
Maybourne's first Paris hotel

First look
Maybourne — the group behind Claridge's and The Connaught in London — is finally planting a flag in Paris. The Maybourne Saint-Germain will be its first hotel in the city, set inside the Îlot Saint-Germain, a listed 17th-century landmark on the Left Bank between Boulevard Saint-Germain and Rue Saint-Dominique. The company calls it a "fourth era" for the building, and on paper it reads like a serious one.
The plan is a palace-style hotel of 101 keys — 50 suites and 51 rooms — wrapped around an inner courtyard, with six places to eat and drink and Surrenne, Maybourne's wellness-and-longevity spa, billed as one of the largest in Paris. That's a lot to deliver in a protected historic shell.
We haven't stayed, and 2027 is still a way off — opening dates on projects this size move. What we'll be watching for: whether the London restraint survives the translation to the Rive Gauche, and whether the courtyard and spa feel like the real thing or just the brochure. We'll find out when we visit.
Not yet scored. We publish a Fat Score only once a hotel is open and real guests have stayed and written about it — this is a first look, not a verdict.
Before it opens
When does The Maybourne Saint-Germain open?
It's slated to open in 2027. The date comes from Maybourne's own announcement and trade press; as with any project inside a protected historic building, the timing could shift.
How many rooms will it have, and what's it like?
101 keys in total — 50 suites and 51 rooms — set around a courtyard in a 17th-century Left Bank landmark, with six dining venues and Surrenne, Maybourne's wellness and longevity spa. It's the group's first hotel in Paris.
