Opening 2030

Mandarin Oriental, Miami

A ground-up twin-tower rebuild replacing the imploded Brickell Key original

Miami, United States

First look

Mandarin Oriental, Miami is being rebuilt from the ground up. The original Brickell Key tower closed in May 2025 and was imploded on April 12, 2026, clearing the way for a new twin-tower development on the site. Groundbreaking is expected in late 2026, with completion reported for 2030, so this is a long runway rather than a near-term opening.

Because the site is starting over, there's little to judge yet beyond the ambition of a twin-tower plan on one of Miami's most recognizable waterfront parcels. What we'll be watching for is what the new build keeps from the old Brickell Key address and what it trades up, and whether a 2030 timeline holds once construction is actually underway. We haven't stayed, and won't for years, so treat this as a marker on the calendar.
