Amangani is the rare entry on this list that already exists: Aman's original Wyoming lodge, perched on a mesa above Jackson Hole, closed in April 2025 for a major renovation. It is slated to reopen in late 2026, so for now it counts as a reopening rather than an open property. We have not seen the refreshed rooms, but the bones are well known to anyone who has followed Aman in the US.

What we will be watching for is how much of the original character survives the work. The draw was always the setting more than the styling, and a renovation is a chance to either sharpen that or sand it down. We will hold any verdict until the doors are back open and people who paid the bill start reporting on what changed.

Occasional maintenance lapses — a jammed bathtub, a missed yoga escort — and some furniture that prioritizes aesthetics over comfort are minor friction points in what is otherwise one of the most consistently praised safari properties on earth.
