The Oberoi, Bardia

A greenfield wildlife lodge that would mark Oberoi's first foray into Nepal's far-western jungle.

Bardia National Park, Nepal

First look

Oberoi has confirmed plans (via Skift in November 2025, alongside EIH's stated expansion) for a wildlife resort near Bardia National Park in far-western Nepal. The reported footprint is a roughly 30-acre greenfield site, which on paper points to a built-from-scratch lodge rather than a conversion. It sits inside the group's wider push to reach 27 properties by 2030, so this is a long-lead project rather than a near-term opening.

There's no firm opening date yet, and the property hasn't surfaced on Oberoi's official upcoming-hotels page, so the picture is still early. What we'll be watching for is how the resort handles a remote national-park setting that draws tiger and rhino traffic but far fewer travellers than Oberoi's marquee Indian addresses. Bardia is quieter than Chitwan, and a successful lodge here would lean on guiding and access as much as rooms.
