Mandarin Oriental
Mandarin Oriental, Suzhou
A lakeside debut on the east bank of Suzhou's Jinji Lake
First look
Mandarin Oriental, Suzhou was announced in February 2025 and is slated to open in 2026 on the east bank of Jinji Lake, with 146 rooms. It currently sits in Mandarin Oriental's press materials rather than the live portfolio listing, which is typical for a property still ahead of opening.
A lakeside setting and a relatively contained room count are the two facts worth holding onto here; everything else is still to come. What we'll be watching for is how the Jinji Lake position shapes the experience, since that waterfront is the obvious draw, and whether the 2026 date sticks. We haven't stayed, so this is anticipation, not a verdict.
Not yet scored. We publish a Fat Score only once a hotel is open and real guests have stayed and written about it — this is a first look, not a verdict.
