Capella
Capella Kenting
65 oceanfront pool villas by ACPV ARCHITECTS; Capella's first resort in Taiwan.
First look
Capella is taking its first run at a Taiwan resort in Kenting, on the Hengchun Peninsula at the island's southern tip, with an opening reported for 2028. The plan is for 65 oceanfront villas, each with a private pool, designed by ACPV ARCHITECTS, the Milan studio of Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel. The all-villa format puts this firmly in resort territory.
It would be Capella's second property in Taiwan after the Taipei hotel, but the first resort, which is a different proposition entirely. Kenting is known for its coastline and national park rather than city life, so a villas-only layout fits the setting. ACPV is a familiar name in this tier of hospitality, which raises expectations for how the architecture sits against the ocean. What we will be watching for is whether the villa count stays at 65 and how private the beachfront actually feels once the resort takes shape.
