The Verdict

Kerry Hill's architectural masterpiece delivers an undeniably stunning hard product — those soaring pavilions overlooking Northwest Point beach are among the most photogenic in the Caribbean. The 18,000-acre nature reserve setting creates genuine seclusion that money can't buy elsewhere in Turks and Caicos. But Amanyara suffers from a service culture that falls short of Aman standards, particularly compared to the brand's Asian properties. Local staff training remains inconsistent, with Turkish seasonal reinforcements often outperforming the permanent team. The dining is adequate but uninspired for this price point, and facilities like the gym feel dated. Still, for pure architectural beauty and that unparalleled sense of private sanctuary, few Caribbean resorts match this level of visual drama.

What People Say

Strong endorsement

We went in 2021 and I've never seen anything close to Amanyara in terms of hotel design — it's completely in a class of its own.

May 2025

I booked a private cove beach room and it was probably the best room I've ever stayed in for aesthetics, sunset views, and private beach access. The room and setting are out of this world. Food was average, nothing memorable but not bad. The room prices are absurdly high, but it's their business decision — this is a want, not a need for most people.

I just returned from Amanyara and honestly, if you're seeking pure zen and quiet wellness, this might be the best resort in the world for that.

May 2025

The resort was absolutely gorgeous — I can't overstate how beautiful this place is. Everyone was friendly and excited to be there, though definitely on island time. The beach was incredible and the setting creates this perfect sense of peace. Food was remarkably average but the wine list was well-stocked and fairly priced. For pure tranquility and wellness, I haven't found anywhere that matches it.

We stayed four nights and I figured others might want to know if it's worth the hype — our bar was set at Rosewood Mayakoba level.

Jul 2024

Amanyara is architecturally stunning with perfectly crystal clear water. The Ocean View pavilion was nicely spacious with floor-to-ceiling windows maximizing the scenery. There are only two restaurants on site, which limits options for longer stays. The food needs work — some dishes were good, others bland, and timing was inconsistent. But the setting and privacy are unparalleled.

Architecturally stunning design
Crystal clear water
Exceptional privacy
Limited dining options
Inconsistent food quality
Red flag

After being to Amangiri I chose this place instead of St. Barths — my error in the first place.

Altea BestettiDec 2025

The service is bad, especially from local Turks and Caicos people who look like they literally hate you. Only nice people were from Turkey. Food is just okay — when I asked for bread with salad they served me high school toast bread. Housekeeping left dirty glasses and never swept the patio. The place is falling apart with old bikes and stained golf carts.

Local staff hostile

Best resort we have ever stayed at — now spoiled for any other brand.

Nav GosalNov 2025

The grounds, facilities, and accommodations are beautiful. Staff take their shoes off before entering your villa, which I'd never seen before. Impeccable service from start to finish. Food is too good for a resort, and bar service matches the food quality. Special mention to Winnie as beverage manager and Owen for being attentive and on top of requests.

Impeccable service throughout
Exceptional food quality
Beautiful facilities
Red flag

For rooms starting at $3,000+ a night, this place is a joke — the service is the very worst part.

Eugene TolkachevNov 2025

We were told there would be drilling and construction noise during our $1,100 massage. Servers aren't attentive, you have to wave them down. Most tables aren't clean with soy sauce stains. The food variety is minuscule — only a restaurant and beach bar. The oysters were old and the $160 steak didn't even taste like cow. We invested over $30,000 and many places give better experiences for a third of the price.

Nice rooms
Construction noise during spa
Inattentive service
Poor food quality
Overpriced for value

Simply one of the most beautiful places on Earth — the privacy and quiet elegance are spectacular.

The beaches and waters of Turks and Caicos are only rivaled by maybe the Maldives or Thailand, and this hotel brings luxury up a notch in such a beautiful setting. The staff is kind, immediate, and waiting to assist with anything. The property is pristine and dining is fabulous. Just spectacular overall.

World-class beach quality

I wanted a true do-nothing getaway and was hesitant at first, but I'm SO glad I chose Amanyara over the Ritz Carlton.

Rahul MehtaJul 2025

The property is so beautiful and the staff and service are wonderful. Even with a full resort, there's such a level of privacy and seclusion that's unparalleled. I left already planning when I could return. Definitely worth every penny for the level of tranquility and beauty you get.

We loved our week at Amanyara — the beach was perfect with calm, quiet, and the bluest blue I've seen in a while.

Maria BrunoMay 2025

We had amazing weather and didn't experience any bugs or critters anywhere on the property. When I mentioned the bed was hard, they literally changed the mattress while we were at the beach. The food needs work — some dishes good, others bland, and timing inconsistent. But the beach and pools were so lovely we couldn't tear ourselves away from them.

Amanfayun

Hangzhou, China

Amanfayun remains one of Aman's most distinctive properties precisely because it refuses to behave like a conventional hotel — this is a reconstructed Longjing tea village threaded along a stream beside Lingyin Temple, and the sense of arriving somewhere ancient rather than merely luxurious is real and consistently reported. The setting does the heavy lifting: monk-led chants at Yongfu Temple at dawn, tea gardens, a footpath to the temple gate that lets guests beat the tourist crowds, and a stream-lined pool framed by centuries-old stone walls that reviewers repeatedly call transformative. Dining is genuinely a highlight, with Hangzhou House and the vegetarian restaurant both earning consistent praise, though a handful of recent guests found the Michelin-starred Hangzhou House overpriced and underwhelming on a given night — worth tempering expectations there. Service is the property's most polarizing element: the overwhelming consensus is warm, attentive staff who go out of their way for families and elderly guests, but there's a persistent minority thread of poor English, unhelpful front-desk interactions, and one alarming 2024 report of serious lapses that reads like an outlier rather than a pattern given the volume of praise since. Rooms are atmospheric but genuinely dark — this is the single most consistent structural complaint across years of reviews — and the property's traffic-controlled access and long transfer from Hangzhou East station require planning. For travelers who want cultural immersion over conventional five-star polish, this is arguably the most soulful Aman in China.
