What you get for your money here is a genuinely enormous, immaculately run resort compound that staff keep elevating past what the building alone would earn. Rooms come back spotless and spacious enough that families traveling with kids single this place out specifically, and the gardens and two pools (one adults-only) give you real space to spread out. The thing almost everyone circles back to is the same: specific staff members doing specific, useful things, not generic friendliness. One family arrived to find diapers, baby cream and a bottle steriliser already in the room, unrequested. Another got football jerseys sourced on short notice so they’d have a memento of watching a World Cup match from their room.
The location is the honest trade-off. You’re roughly ten minutes from the airport and ten from the Medina, next to a smart outdoor mall with good restaurants, but nothing in old Marrakech is walkable from here. If you want to stumble out the door into the souks, book a riad instead — this is a resort experience, not an old-town one. A few reports mention real missteps too: an auto-charged minibar, a day-pass package that got relitigated at the front desk for ninety minutes, and one guest hit with a $460-a-head New Year dinner charge that had already been prepaid. None of that is common, but it’s worth knowing before you hand over a card.
Book this for travelers who want a big, dependable Four Seasons where the staff turnover doesn’t show and the rooms are built for families or longer stays. Skip it if you came to Marrakech for the old city at your doorstep — otherwise, book it for the grounds, the breakfast team, and a level of service that keeps people coming back on repeat visits.
Where the score comes from
Each out of 20. The tick on every bar is where the collection starts.
Service18/20
Rooms & Design17/20
Rooms and villas read as large and spotless with strong lighting and garden views, though one guest called the gym dated and one called room decor tired.
Location15/20
Set in landscaped grounds near the M Avenue mall and about 10 minutes from the airport and old town, so nothing outside the gate is walkable.
Dining16.5/20
Wellness15.5/20
Two large pools and a spa with decent treatments, but the jacuzzi was described as slimy once and the spa called merely ok by another guest.
Strengths
Staff repeatedly go out of their way with specific, personalized gestures rather than generic service
Rooms and villas run large, spotless, and well suited to families with children
Expansive gardens and two pools give the property a genuine sense of calm away from the city
Breakfast buffet quality and variety stand out across many stays
Returning guests get recognized and remembered on repeat visits
Trade-offs
Set outside the old city, so nothing in the Medina is walkable from the property
A few guests report billing mishaps, including an incorrectly repeated dinner charge and minibar auto-charges
Spa and gym facilities draw more mixed reactions than the rest of the resort
Overall a lovely stay, though a vegetarian menu that needed extra requests and automatic minibar charges were a mild annoyance.
jayesh jainJun 2026
The location and service were both good, but the vegan and vegetarian options weren’t quite up to standard unless you specifically ask the chef. We also got hit with automatic minibar charges, so I’d be cautious about taking anything out of that fridge. The spa was fine and professional but quiet, nothing dramatic happening there.
We just got back from our second stay, and the pool and gym remain a real highlight.
Anthony and Imane AustenJun 2026
The hotel looked amazing from the moment we walked in, and staff were polite and consistently went the extra mile. The pool was lovely and relaxing, and someone was always checking we had everything we needed. We’ll be back next time we’re in Marrakech.
When we were planning our honeymoon, this was the resort people pointed us to if we wanted something straightforward and reliable in Marrakech.
Jun 2026
It’s not technically all-inclusive but sits in that price range per day, and people kept recommending it alongside the sister property in Casablanca if we wanted beach access instead. Worth knowing the Casablanca location is near a mosque so no alcohol is served there, though we just brought our own.
Consistent, well-regarded option for a Morocco honeymoon
I travel for work most of the year and switched from Ritz Carlton to Four Seasons a few years back, and this was the best hotel stay I’ve had.
Navigate07258704319May 2026
Every single part of our stay was amazing, from the property itself to the way the team ran the place. I’ve told people many times this is the best hotel I’ve visited, and the staff and service are what put it over the top. Can’t wait to go back.
We just booked a pool day pass for our last day in the city and it was easy, relaxing, and good value for what we got.
Kasia M.Apr 2026
Checking in for the pool day was quick, and we were soon relaxing by one of the two pools with comfortable sunbeds, plus towels and water in a cool box. There’s a poolside restaurant with genuinely tasty food, and after our swim we were able to shower at the spa before heading straight to the airport since the hotel is only about 13 minutes away. Not cheap, but worth it for the convenience and service.
Our villa had its own terrace right next to a warm plunge pool, which made the whole stay feel private and relaxed.
Margarita ShalitMar 2026
The property is huge, with beautiful gardens and parks that are lovely just to walk through. Everything felt well organized and safe, and the service genuinely matched what I’d expect from this brand. A perfect place to properly unwind while still being in Marrakech.
The grounds and fountains were genuinely beautiful, and the complimentary Moroccan oranges were a small touch I still think about.
Mamta ChhabraJan 2026
Our room was spacious and luxurious, and the whole property is landscaped beautifully. Lunch at the poolside restaurant and the breakfast spread were both excellent, and staff throughout were hospitable and welcoming.
When someone asked where to stay in Marrakech, I described this as the safest, most polished pick if you just want a traditional resort feel.
Apr 2026
Compared to La Mamounia’s old-world Medina energy or Amanjena’s quiet isolation outside the city, I’d call this the most straightforward and consistent option of the group, with beautiful grounds but a more conventional resort vibe. If you want something more intimate, Villa des Orangers or Royal Mansour are worth a look too, but for reliability this is the one I’d point people to.
Consistent, polished resort experience
Beautiful grounds
More conventional resort feel than Marrakech’s boutique riads
This is one of the most kid-friendly resorts we’ve stayed at, and our room was easily the most comfortable part of the trip.
Harriet E.Jun 2026
Check-in to check-out, the service was flawless, especially with our kids in tow. Our room was spotless, huge, and beautifully designed, and that extra space made a real difference traveling as a family. The indoor playroom was a highlight for our kids, clean and well-equipped, and food across the hotel was excellent with good variety. We’ll absolutely be back.
Great resort overall, but I’d tell anyone booking that this is a resort stay, not a base for exploring the old city on foot.
Brandon O'BerryJun 2026
We spent 5 nights in a premium garden view room, about 10 minutes from the airport and about the same from the old city, so you’re in a bit of a no-man’s land with only a nearby mall walkable from the property. Uber was cheaper and less hassle than the taxis, who tried to steer us toward their contacts in the square. Pool, spa, and service were all excellent, but marble floors meant we heard furniture scraping from the room above us at midnight, which felt below the standard I’d expect here. We also tried a night at a riad in the old city and actually preferred the more authentic feel, so my advice is: come here for the big pool and breakfast buffet, but consider a riad if the old town is what you’re after.
Second stay here and the staff recognized us the moment we walked in, which made the whole nine nights feel personal.

Breakfast was first class every single day, with the manager and his team greeting us with a smile and remembering our requests. At the adult pool, someone was always checking on our drinks without us having to ask, and the rooftop restaurant served genuinely excellent food and cocktails over two visits. The front-of-house team greeted us by name and asked about our day throughout the stay, and housekeeping kept everything spotless. Everything about this trip, from the rooms to the surroundings, felt elevated by how well the whole team worked together.
Service and attention to detail were impeccable, though the gym felt a bit tucked away from the rest of the property.
Mark SchandelMar 2026
The pools were large with plenty of chairs, and the restaurants had great variety for our kids. We got upgraded at arrival and the kids got a fun welcome gift, which was a nice touch. The gym felt a bit dated and separate from the main hotel, maybe to serve the residences too. Getting around was easy since M Avenue shops are walkable and Uber handled everything else, from the Medina to the airport.
Arrival upgrade and kids’ welcome gift
Good variety at restaurants for children
Gym feels dated and disconnected from the main hotel
Honestly the room decor felt tired and the New Year dinner was a disaster that nearly cost us twice over.
Luis PenaJan 2026
The room felt old and run down compared to what I expected, though the staff themselves were friendly and efficient. We paid heavily for an overpriced New Year dinner that wasn’t good, and at checkout they tried to charge us again for a dinner we’d already prepaid a month earlier at $460 a head. I won’t be recommending this hotel after that experience.
Friendly, efficient staff
Dated room decor
Overpriced New Year dinner with a billing error at checkout
A full week here and the garden setting did exactly what I needed, which was let me forget the intensity of the city outside the gates.
Elnura CaspianDec 2025
The moment I stepped onto the property I forgot everything happening outside, it’s calm, peaceful and beautifully secluded. I spent most days by the pool sunbathing aside from a couple of rainy ones. A few team members at breakfast and at the Inara Café were consistently warm and professional, and one assistant manager noticed my mood was off on the first day and personally helped me with a detailed map of the city, which turned my stay around.
Four Seasons Resort Marrakech sits on landscaped grounds just outside the old city, roughly ten minutes from both the airport and the Medina, next to the M Avenue open-air shopping development. The resort is built around extensive gardens and fountains, with villas and guest rooms set across the property rather than in a single tower block. Multiple guests describe the grounds as large enough to feel secluded from the city outside the gates.
On property there are two swimming pools, one reserved for adults and one for families, along with a spa, fitness center and an indoor playroom for children. Dining includes a Moroccan restaurant, an Italian restaurant, a Lebanese-Moroccan rooftop restaurant and bar called Zest, a poolside restaurant, and an in-room dining menu. The property also offers pool day passes to non-overnight guests, which include lunch and use of the outdoor pool. The surrounding mall area provides additional Italian, Moroccan and Lebanese dining options a short walk from the entrance.
What fat travellers ask
Is Four Seasons Resort Marrakech worth it?
For travelers who want a dependable, spacious resort with attentive staff and room to spread out, most guests say yes, especially families. If your priority is being inside the old city on foot, the location works against you.
What’s the best time to visit Four Seasons Resort Marrakech?
Guests mention temperatures over 40C in summer, so cooler months are more comfortable for using the gardens and pools, though the resort’s air conditioning is called effective even in peak heat.
How does Four Seasons Resort Marrakech compare to nearby alternatives?
Guests who’ve tried both describe it as more polished and consistent than other options in the city but less immersive than staying inside the Medina at a property like La Mamounia or a smaller riad, and less private than out-of-town options like Amanjena.
Who is Four Seasons Resort Marrakech best for?
Families and travelers who want a large, resort-style stay with reliable service and space for kids, rather than those chasing a walkable old-town base.
How does Four Seasons Resort Marrakech compare to Amanjena?
Four Seasons Resort Marrakech is rated Fat Favorite at 16.5/20 on Fat Voyage; Amanjena is rated Fat Favorite at 16.5/20. Both are scored across Service, Rooms & Design, Location, Dining and Wellness from community, editorial and verified-guest evidence — the side-by-side comparison shows where each one leads.
How do I book Four Seasons Resort Marrakech?
Two routes, and both end with the reservation sitting at the hotel in your name. Direct on the hotel’s own site is the fastest — the Reserve button on this page goes straight to it. The other is through a travel advisor with consortia access: you pay the same rate the hotel is charging publicly, the hotel pays the advisor’s commission instead of you, and an amenity package comes attached — breakfast for two daily, even on room-only rates, $100 hotel credit — $200 on suites and private retreats, room upgrade to the next category, subject to availability, early check-in and late check-out, subject to availability. We handle that side ourselves for readers who ask.
What is the smartest way to book Four Seasons Resort Marrakech?
Through a travel advisor with consortia access, for almost everyone. You pay the hotel’s own public rate and an amenity package comes on top that direct booking doesn’t include — typically breakfast for two daily, even on room-only rates, $100 hotel credit — $200 on suites and private retreats, room upgrade to the next category, subject to availability, early check-in and late check-out, subject to availability. It costs nothing extra, because the hotel pays the commission rather than you. The one real exception is brand loyalty: advisor rates don’t always earn nights toward status, so if you’re chasing a tier or points, book direct. Short of that, there’s no version of booking direct that leaves you better off. We’re advisors ourselves, so you can just ask us.
Can I get a free room upgrade at Four Seasons Resort Marrakech?
Never guaranteed — it depends on what’s still unsold the day you arrive, and anyone promising one is guessing. Two things move the odds. The reliable one is booking through a consortia programme, where a room upgrade is written into the amenity package subject to availability; it costs nothing extra and it is the closest thing to a lever that exists. The other is telling the hotel in advance that you’re celebrating something, which works more often than people expect. The first part is already handled if you book it with us.
