For everyone else, at rates well into five figures for the suites, this is the Paris palace most people say they'd return to first.

Book this for the address more than anything else: a minute from Place Vendôme, with the Opéra at one end of the street and the Louvre a short walk the other way, and a lobby that stays genuinely quiet despite sitting in the loudest part of the city. Rooms run large by Parisian standards, with high ceilings and marble bathrooms, and the breakfast at Café Jeanne comes up over and over as the best meal of the whole trip, croissants and French toast included.

The decor is the honest catch. Heavy gold tones, dark wood and mirrored surfaces read to a lot of recent guests as more 1990s Paris than 2026, and the base rooms are smaller and less updated than the suites, so what room category you land in changes the experience more than usual here. Service is the strongest argument for paying the rate, with staff frequently singled out by name for solving a real problem on the spot, but it isn't flawless: one guest found a bellman just watching while they unloaded their own luggage, another had a pillow-menu order never actually arrive, and one report describes a breakfast charge quietly added to a bill that was supposed to be included. None of that is disqualifying, but at this price it shouldn't happen at all.

Paying cash here only makes sense if the location and that breakfast matter more to you than a fully modern room; on points, with Hyatt Globalist status stacking free breakfast and reliable upgrades, it's a clear win.
